2016 Calendar of Events Nenagh LTC
Birr Wilmer won Div I of the Midland Tennis League 2015 when they defeated 2014 winners Nenagh in the final at Nenagh last week. Wilmer had Chris Collins (Capt), JP Savy, Csilla Varga and Sinead Watkins on duty, while Nenagh were represented by James Morris, Matthew Ryan, Emma Mulqueen and Melissa Kenny.
There was somewhat of an international flavour to the final with Birr having South African (Chris), French man (JP) and Hungarian (Csilla), and Nenagh having James Morris (aka the Aussie Painter) on their respective teams.
This was Wilmer’s 3rd time winning Div I in this particular division’s 30 year history. The League was inaugurated with a single division in 1986, with Div II being introduced in 1987, and divisions III, IV and the ladies divisions being added in later years.
